Brothers Billy and Jimmy Lee are characters in 'Double Dragon 4.'

The 8-bit gaming era has dished out iconic heroes that still are revered up to this day such as Mario, the commandos Bill and Lance from "Contra" and Link from "Legend of Zelda." In line with this, another well-known game series in the 80's is set to hit today's consoles that will bring back nostalgia for long-time gamers.

Brothers Billy and Jimmy Lee will be gracing the new game platforms in 2017 as Arc System Works unveiled that they will be releasing "Double Dragon 4." The said announcement has been posted at Arc's official website alongside with a video that has been making quite a buzz online as of late.

The teaser that runs for almost two minutes features numerous gameplays from "Double Dragon" titles of old. Players who are well oriented with the classic 8-bit initially thought that the developers will be making tweaks graphically on the upcoming game. However, as soon as the trailer reached its second half, it seems that the graphics will remain faithful to its predecessors, according to Game Spot.

Moreover, the video also hinted game modes other than the usual adventure mode. It suggests that it will have a two-player duel and a mystery game mode being depicted as "???," accordng to Polygon. The latter could be an unlockable game mode provided that players have beaten the game, though it has to be confirmed by Arc.

The last "Double Dragon" sequel was released way back in 1990 dubbed "Double Dragon 3: The Rosetta Stone" that was later on made available to various game systems during that era. It is also noteworthy to mention that the people who developed the original title three decades ago have been tapped once again to put up another installment for the game series that will be rolled out on January 20, 2017.

Here is the recently released trailer for the upcoming "Double Dragon 4" game.
