The Chinese smartphone maker Gionee may be ready to unveil the awaited Gionee S10 soon.

Gionee is bringing the M2017, a unique Android smartphone, in China's market. The said device is treated as a premium high-end handset for those who have cash to burn.

At first glance, the premium Gionee M2017 does look expensive because of its interesting black and gold design. Besides the physical aspect of the smartphone, the M2017 also has specs that can rival most of today's famous flagship devices from Samsung and the like.

For instance, the Gionee M2017 has a 5.7-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of QHD. Its screen is similar to the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge although there is no dual-curved edge at the sides.

Gionee's M2017 also has a fingerprint at the front plus up to 6GB of RAM, 9 to 5 Google reported. There will be two variants available and the lower-end will have 128GB of internal storage plus 4GB RAM while the higher-end will have 256GB and 6GB, respectively.

There are only a few smartphones that even have 4GB RAM installed. The new LG V20 has 4GB RAM and it is actually cheaper than the Gionee M2017 which costs $1000.

Qualcomm's Snapdragon 653 octa-core chipset powers the device. It would seem to be less powerful compared to the S7 which uses the Snapdragon 820 in some regions.

The highlight of the Gionee M2017 is the battery life which is enormous at 7000mAh thanks to the two 3500mAh packed together inside the Android smartphone, Engadget reported. It is said to last up to 32 hours with talk time or 26 hours of non-stop video playback under a moderate brightness setting. It is perfect for those who want to stream their favorite TV shows and movies non-stop over the weekend.

Unfortunately, the Gionee M2017 will be sold in China for now. There is no word yet if Gionee will be selling the smartphone internationally as well. Although the phone could pop up in eBay or Amazon from sellers in China.
