"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 recently saw the return and death of Tyler Blackburn (Michael Trevino), but it seems that he is not the only major character that will be killed off.
In an interview with TV Line, executive producer Julie Plec was asked whether or not Tyler's death will be the last for the hit The CW series. The exec did not divulge any information but simply said, "No." When asked how the other character will die, Plec said that it will be both painful and terrible.
Some fans are speculating on the possibility of Damon (Ian Somerhalder) being killed off. After all, there are also rumors that Nina Dobrev will return to reprise her role as Elena Gilbert. During a previous interview, Plec said that not everyone will have the happy ending that they deserve on the show because they want the story to be as realistic as possible.
While speaking with Variety, Somerhalder said that he does not have any idea whether or not Dobrev will be back. What he only knows is that Damon and Elena are not expected to get back together. "I think the happy ending is that we got to go on this amazing ride with these two guys. They have lived long enough," he said.
Meanwhile, "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 will wrap up on March 10, but before the finale episode, fans will learn what exactly will happen to Stefan (Paul Wesley) now that he has also turned his humanity switch off. As the newest partner to Cade, Stefan will find himself in grave danger while he is in his ripper mode.
This time around, Damon would have to get his act together to make sure that Stefan will be guided accordingly. Previously, Damon was trapped inside the Armory vault where he also switched off his humanity switch. He went on a killing spree, and Stefan was there to help save him from the dark side. Damon would also have to make sure that Stefan will not cross to the dark side permanently because this could cause his death.
"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 will return to The CW starting January.
