A series of leaks that have surfaced the web over the past couple of days are pointing out that upcoming LG G6 is set to debut in the first quarter of 2017 with a QHD resolution, USB-C, borderless Edge-to-Edge display, a glass back, and more exciting goodies.
The most recent leak covers G6's design, alluding to an expected glass panel on its back and a 2.5D display on its front. The 2.5D display will see the phone's screen extend almost fully end to end with no side bezels and arched in a manner that makes its transition into its body seamless.
According to Phone Arena, the unnamed source of the leak claims that LG G6 will also have wireless charging capabilities and water resistance, something entirely new in LG's flagship. However, mobile analysts maintain that these two features are long overdue because some phone makers have already developed them.
Another report released on Dec. 26 by Twitter user @ShaiMizrachi, who is known for past accurate leaks of both Samsung and LG, has also publicized the looks to expect with the LG G6. Apparently, LG somehow copied the design of LG G5 by incorporating a fingerprint scanner underneath the camera and a dual-camera set-up in the back.
When it comes to modular accessories unfortunately, the render fails to give a clear idea of whether LG is going to fit out the LG G6 with a modular build like it did with its predecessor. Enthusiasts like Mizrachi, nevertheless, maintain that the phone may be slimmer at the top and wider at the bottom, insinuating the likelihood of modular accessories.
More G6's expected features include include a 5.3 to 5.5-inch display with 1440 x 2560 resolution, a Snapdragon 835 SoC or 821 processor, 6 GB of RAM, and USB-C, according to GSM Arena. Borrowing some information from the LG G5, it is expected that LG G6's battery will have a replaceable battery with a capacity of 2800mAh give or take.
Rumors point out that the most likely announcement date for LG G6 is Feb. 21, 2017. It will then become available for sale later in March. This closely copys the announcement and release dates of the LG G5.
