Samsung Galaxy S8 release to come with wireless earbuds like Airpods

Samsung pins hopes on the Samsung Galaxy S8 for redemption following the unfortunate run of the Galaxy Note 7.

Samsung Galaxy S8 release may come with an attractive accessory based on iPhone 7. iPhone 7 debuted the wireless earbuds - Airpods. It seems that Samsung is adopting the same feature for its flagship handset.

Apple's reason for using wireless earbuds is due to the fact that it has ditched the audio jack. Removing the audio jack provides more space in order to improve the other features. Samsung is never shy in copying the Cupertino-based company. It can be remembered that when Apple debuted the fingerprint sensor on iPhone, Samsung followed suit.

Now, rumors claimed that Samsung Galaxy S8 will also remove the 3.5mm headphone jack just like Apple. Hence, the need for wireless earbuds. Moreover, Samsung already has an in-ear wireless earpiece in the market called Gear IconX. This product hit store shelves early this year and was primarily viewed as a competitor to the Apple AirPods.

However, Samsung-centric website SamMobile reported that Samsung is currently testing prototypes, including a handset that has an audio jack. This could mean that there is a chance that the smartphone will not completely ditch the said feature.

Meanwhile, Samsung may invest highly in Samsung Galaxy S8 as the company is anticipating low sales of Note 8 due to the Note 7 exploding battery controversy. There is a dire need for Samsung to reshuffle its products and the Note brand to remove the negative image affecting all Samsung devices.

Rumors further claimed that a new line will be created in order to fill in the void of Galaxy Note devices. Recent reports stated Samsung will release two variants of Galaxy S8 next year, including a "Plus" size. A device coined as Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus surfaced online, which is unlikely since the company may have trouble with the branding with Apple's iPhone 7 Plus.

However, an alleged photo of the device was spotted in China hinting that the device will come with S-Pen stylus. Considering that the Galaxy S8 Plus is rumored to have a 6-inch display, a stylus might indeed come in handy, and the accessory might make the phone more appealing to former Galaxy Note handset owners, according to BGR.

Meanwhile, Samsung Galaxy S8 release is slated in February 2017 near Mobile World Congress. Nothing is official until the South Korea-based tech company makes a formal announcement.
