2NE1 former member Minzy solo debut may happen sooner rather than later as the singer hinted that she is hard at work with her solo album.
In a latest Instagram post, the singer posted a photo of her with Canadian composer Steve Barakatt and behind them is a grand piano hinting that she could be working with him for some of her tracks for her album. The caption reads, "It was EPIC".
The post increased the anticipation of fans for the upcoming album. Minzy solo debut is reportedly delayed in 2017 although an exact date has not been revealed. In a recent V live interview with SPICA's Bohyung, Minzy revealed that she attended school this year that is one of the factors of the delay. "I think I will become busier. I will meet you guys often. I will release an album, have a great time with you all, then go on a trip," Minzy said in the interview, according to All Kpop. Below are the three reasons why Minzy's solo debut is pushed back early next year.
Minzy also revealed in the interview that she is writing her own music delaying the process. She wants her new album to be a nice gift to her fans so she is pouring her heart in the lyrics by trying to be inspired all the time to write songs. This ambition of trying to create a perfect album by not relying to other songwriters for song is a commendable trait of Minzy.
Fans took it as a sign for the imminent solo debut of the former 2NE1 member. Since she left the group and YG Entertainment and signed under Music Works, Minzy told fans that she will come back as a solo artist. The preparation for her debut is underway. Her new agency previously announced that Minzy will hold a comeback before the year ends. However, the artist is taking careful steps.
