John Cena and Roman Reigns

John Cena came back with an edgier and arrogant attitude in last week's episode of SmackDown Live. He showed several heel tendencies as the WWE continued to tease his heel turn. And to make it more interesting, Cena started a Twitter war with Roman Reigns.

The majority of WWE fans have been calling for Cena heel turn for several years now. However, the WWE has not pulled the trigger since the 39-year-old has done a lot of charity work for kids and his merchandise rakes in millions for the company.

Cena was the most polarizing figure in the WWE until the company decided to shove Reigns down everyone's throats. "The Guy" is now the most polarizing superstar in the WWE and the possible next face of the company.

A recent post on Twitter where Kevin Owens was yelling with a fan while holding Reigns on headlock went viral. It is because Reigns was visibly laughing at what KO was telling the fans at ringside. He made a great excuse about it on his official Twitter account.

"The Big Dog" was surely in character when he posted his excuse on Twitter. But it shows how Reigns can be a cocky heel because of his real-life persona. His personality is borderline arrogant-like confidence that makes him more watchable on non-WWE shows like Xavier Woods' UpUpDownDown YouTube channel.

However, the recent boast of Reigns did not sit well with Cena. In response to the tweet, the 15-time WWE world champion bragged about his day. He posted a video of himself working out at the Georgia Tech football facility.

The #recognize might be something that Cena will use more frequently moving forward. According to Cageside Seats, Cena and Reigns engaging in Twitter war might be planned by the WWE. The report noted that it could be part of another way to get Reigns over with the crowd.

The tension between two of the most polarizing superstars in the WWE gives the fans something to think about. Will they feud with each other down the line? Who will we cheer or boo? It is certainly working at the moment but it's not possible for them to face each other at the moment.

Reigns is a Raw superstar while Cena is with SmackDown Live. Nevertheless, it is a big match up in the future wherein it could be the passing of the torch from the face of the WWE to the next. For more WWE news, rumors and updates, just follow me on Twitter @johnnyrundown.
