Conor Kennedy and father Robert Kennedy Jr. were arrested in 2013 while protesting against Keystone XL tar sands oil pipeline.

Taylor Swift's ex Conor Kennedy, eldest son of environmental activist Robert Kennedy Jr. was arrested in Aspen on Dec. 29, Thursday, over a bar fight. He is the grandson of former United States president John F. Kennedy's brother, Robert F. Kennedy and was briefly linked with Swift in 2012 when he was 18.

The 22-year-old Kennedy allegedly hit a person's head  in front of the Bootsy Bellows nightclub on Hyman Avenue.  The incident began at about 1:40 a.m. MT when the Aspen police receive a call to the nightclub to deal with people who refused to leave. Officer Andy Atkinson responded and saw two men fighting, Sgt. Ric Magnuson told The Aspen Times.

Atkinson reported that he saw Conor grabbed a man by his shirt, pulled him down and hit the back of his head four or five times. Officers tried to break up the fight but Conor continued to attack the man.

"Kennedy and I fell back on to the snow bank on the south side of (Hyman Avenue) where Kennedy attempted to pull away from me and stand up," Atkinson wrote in his report. "I held on to Kennedy's arms and rolled him over with assistance from a bystander on to his stomach."

An unidentified bystander helped Atkinson handcuff Conor. Conor apologized to Atkinson following his arrest. He said through the report that the guy called his friend the F-word, which he did not expound.

Conor was reportedly seen by many witnesses attacked by two men when he rebuked them for threatening his close friend. He is charged with disorderly conduct, which can carry out a penalty of $2,650 and up to 12 months imprisonment. He was released without a bond and his court date is set for Feb. 22, according to The Daily News.

In 2013, Conor was arrested in front of the White House along with 47 other Sierra club protesters, including his father Robert Jr. as well as actress Daryl Hannah and the late civil rights activist Julian Bond. They protested the proposed Keystone XL tar sands oil pipeline.
