Everton has been inconsistent in the past six rounds with two wins, two losses, and two draws. The team is currently in the seventh spot of the English top flight table, nine points behind sixth-place squad Manchester United and 12 points below fifth-running team Manchester City, who holds the Europa League qualifying berth for next season.

In their most recent match last Friday, the Toffees were held to a 2-2 draw by bottom three club Hull City on the road at the KCOM Stadium for their second consecutive unbeaten performance, as per BBC Sport.

Hull City scored the opening goal in the sixth minute with an unmarked shot from defender Michael Dawson following a corner by teammate Robert Snodgrass.

Everton was able to level the count in the first half injury time with an own goal by Hull City goalkeeper David Marshall after a corner kick by Belgian forward Kevin Mirallas to reach the break tied at 1-1.

Snodgrass then made it a 2-1 count in the 65th before Everton midfielder Ross Barkley equalized in the 84th for the final score.

Meanwhile, Southampton succumbed to their second straight loss with a 1-2 defeat to West Bromwich Albion last Saturday, The Sun reported.

The Saints broke the game's deadlock in the 41st minute with a goal by Irish winger Shane Long. However, the Baggies were quick to equalize as Scottish midfielder Matt Phillips buried a goal two minutes later.

Welsh forward Hal Robson-Kanu gave the lead to West Brom five minutes after the restart. Head coach Claude Puel's squad was not able to score again for the rest of the match as Dutch defender Virgil van Dijk was also sent off one minute before full-time.
