Jung Joon Young is starting the New Year right by announcing his highly-awaited comeback. The singer-actor wrote a handwritten letter to fans detailing his fans for his return.
On his official fan café, Jung Joon Young greeted his fans a Happy New Year and revealed what he's been up to lately. "This was the first time I've been on a break, and I lost track of time doing all the things I had never had time to do in the past," Jung wrote, as quoted by Soompi.
Jung added that he might stage a comeback real soon as he is already in the final stages of completing his new album. "Please be patient and wait just a little more as I want my first reunion with you to be through my music," he wrote.
There are speculations that Jung might return to "2 Days & 1 Night" soon. The rumors stemmed from a video where the singer-actor told Kim Jong Min, "I'll see you soon."
Furthermore, a producer of the show revealed that they will be discussing Jung's return to the show when the singer arrives home from France. It is imperative that Jung Joon Young take part in the negotiations to reach its finality.
Jung halted all his activities in September after he was accused of sexual assault. The charges were filed by the actor's ex-girlfriend, in which she alleged that Jung Joon Young filmed her during sexual intercourse.
As per Soompi, it was reported that the woman dropped all the charges in October. It was clarified that Jung Joon Young and his ex-girlfriend mutually agreed to film their encounter.
"At the time [of the accusation], I was busy with various schedules and the woman had felt neglected. We argued and came to a misunderstanding and she impulsively filed the charge based on the video filming," Jung Joon Young explained his side of the story.
He then apologized for his action, saying he deeply regrets the incident that has now caused pain to his former girlfriend and to his fans. It was later revealed that Jung Joon Young and his ex-girlfriend have maintained an amicable relationship.
