A new DC Comics TV show is currently in the works, and it will be shown on The CW just like "The Flash," "Arrow," "Supergirl" and "Legends of Tomorrow."

Warning: This article contains spoilers from some of the new TV shows set to be released this year.

On his Twitter account, DC comics president Geoff Johns confirmed that a new TV show is in development. However, he did not provide any information regarding the partnership.

According to TV Line, it is still unclear whether or not the TV show will center on superheroes because Johns also mentioned shows such as "Lucifer" and "Gotham." What is only known is that whatever it is that is in the works will not be like The CW's "iZombie" or AMC's "Preacher."

Meanwhile, some of the shows that received buzz over the past couple of months include "Scalped," "Black Lightning" and "Krypton. The former is based on the graphic novel written by Jason Aaron and illustrated by R.M. Guera. The story will follow the life of Chief Lincoln Red Crow, a Native American leader of an Indian reservation. WGN America is developing the TV series, and Doug Jung will pen the pilot.

"Black Lightning," on the other hand, has already been picked up by FOX for a pilot. Greg Berlanti is developing the series that is centered on the DC comics vigilante. The pilot is being written by Mara Brock Akil and her husband, Sam Akil. Both of them will also serve as executive producers for the project together with Berlanti and Sarah Schechter.

"Krypton" serves as a prequel to "Superman." "Game of Thrones" alum Ian McElhinney will be playing the role of the superhero's ancestor. Other cast members who have already been confirmed to join the series include Elliot Cowen, Ann Ogombo, Rasmus Hardiker, Wallis Day and Aaron Pierre. Syfy has already ordered a pilot for "Krypton," but its official release date has not been announced yet.

In other news, fans are speculating on which new TV series will be released by The CW. Some think that it could be a spinoff focusing mainly on the Legion of Superheroes.
