Move over, KITT. A driverless Mercedes-Benz concept car, F015 Luxury In Motion, was seen in the San Francisco area last week, on March 4. The car was cruising through the city's streets during a photo shoot, when it went viral on social media after bystanders started taking their own shots of the driverless vehicle.

The F015 was unveiled at the most recent Consumer Electronics Show. That event took place last September, in Las Vegas.

Besides being a vehicle, the F015 also functions as a "virtual living room," according to Entrepreneur. True to the top-notch luxury expected from Mercedes, It also includes perks such as nappa leather, walnut veneer, and blue LED lighting.

The concept car went viral on social networks such as Reddit. One observer tweeted that the vehicle was "some kind of...promo," while another observed that the concept car was "blowing everyone's mind."

San Francisco locals claimed that they saw the F015 driving itself, according to Huffington Post. However, these reports have not been officially confirmed.

In promotional materials for the F015, Dieter Zetsche, head of Mercedes-Benz, predicts that driverless cars will "change our society." It will not simply be a means of transport, but will also function as a "mobile living space."

The concept car from Mercedes-Benz is not available to the public. Also, if it makes it to the assembly line, its exact specs are unclear.

Still, if the responses in San Francisco are any indicator of the public's interest in the concept car, there will likely be a demand for it. With or without a driver, it is turning heads!
