The Chromebook Plus is a laptop unveiled by Samsung at CES 2017.

Samsung recently announced their new Chromebook Plus and Chromebook Pro which were made in collaboration with Google. The two new Chrome OS laptops were present at the Consumer Electronics Show 2017.

Just like the Surface Pro laptop hybrids, the new Samsung Chromebook Plus and Chromebook Pro can also act as tablets thanks to the 360-degree hinge. Both models sport a 12.3-inch QHD display boasting a resolution of 2400 x 1600 pixels, which is more than most laptops offer in the market.

Samsung's Chromebook Plus will be using an unspecified ARM microprocessor while the faster Chromebook Pro will be powered by an Intel Core m3 chip, XDA Developers has learned. Since they will be running Chrome OS, there is no need for a discrete graphics card.

In fact, both models will be able to support 4K video output which will be made possible using any of the two USB Type-C ports on the Samsung Chromebooks. Customers will also be able to download Android apps thanks to the Chrome OS's support for the Google Play Store.

Samsung Chromebook Plus and Chromebook Pro are targeted towards both students and professionals even in the art industry thanks to the active digitizer stylus, Digital Trends reported. It is not as good as the Apple Pencil in the iPad Pro but it will do alright for casual users as well.

In terms of capacity, both have 32GB for the internal storage and 4GB RAM. The screen is also protected thanks to the Gorilla Glass 3 layer but that does not guarantee it from hard scratches or falls. It also has a full-sized keyboard and a trackpad for traditional users. A mouse can also be attached but is not included in the package.

Samsung will be selling their Chromebook Plus in the United States starting in February for $449. The Chromebook Pro will be available at a later date in Q1 as well.
