"Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series" was first unveiled back in early December during the 2016 Game Awards. It is now revealed that the game is due to launch by April 25.

The game is listed on GameStop and currently costs $29.99. This is the same price Telltale Games charged for the season pass of their previous games and it is expected that this will be the same case for the "Guardians of the Galaxy" game.

Previous Telltale Games titles launched the episodes several months apart. This would indicate that the April 25 date is solely for the premiere episode but not for the latter parts. Gamers that purchase the season pass will gain access to the succeeding four episodes for free as soon as they are made available.

Also included in the listing is a brief overview of the game's main plot. It is revealed that the game's roster will include Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax the Destroyer, Groot and Rocket Racoon, the same team from the first film.

It is further revealed that the team comes across a very powerful relic after defeating one of their enemies. Each member of the Guardians wants the relic for their own, indicating there will be instances in the game where members of the team might be at odds with another.

The villain is also slightly revealed. It is stated in the product description that the villain is a female and is the last of her kind. She is also stated to be quite ruthless and will stop at nothing to get the relic from the Guardians.

Locations in the game will notably include Earth as well as locations from the film such as Knowhere and the cabins of the Milano. It is still uncertain which of the film's locations will be featured prominently in the first episode.

"Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series" is only going to launch for Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4 and mobile devices, Dual Shockers reported. This means previous generations such as the Xbox 360 and PS3 will not get a port of the game.
