Comedian Jimmy Fallon attends NBCUniversal's 74th Annual Golden Globes After Party at The Beverly Hilton Hotel on January 8, 2017 in Beverly Hills, California.

Jimmy Fallon's hosting the Golden Globes 2017 on Jan. 8, Sunday, at Beverly Hilton Hotel's Grand Ballroom on NBC did not technically go smoothly with a teleprompter fail during his opening monologue.  However, the comedian was able to pass through it with timely jokes the most notable of which was about Mariah Carey.

"I just got off the phone with Mariah Carey and she thinks that Dick Clark Productions sabotaged my monologue," Fallon said. "We were like, 'That was odd.' She would laugh at it...We'll have a drink over this. It'll be fun."

It was eight days ago when Carey's New Year's gig in Times Square was marred with an alleged sound fail. It is still unclear who should take the blame for the issue that made the diva's performance awkward.

When the technical challenge happened right at the beginning of Fallon's act during the 74th Golden Globes night, the host could not believe it was live and real. He knew technical issues could happen but not that early.

"I didn't memorize my monologue but I knew maybe the teleprompter might go out at one point, but I didn't imagine the first opening of the show," Fallon told ET at NBCUniversal's after-party. "If I have any problem in life, I'm like, 'Where's Justin Timberlake?' and he usually solves the problem."

Overall, Fallon was pleased with the show, especially his opening number which parodied "La La Land." He shared they really put lots of effort in that production number, such as booking the celebrities including John Travolta.

Fallon also expressed his admiration for Brad Pitt who made a surprise appearance amid a controversial divorce from ex wife Angelina Jolie. He understands the actor may be going through tough times but it was nice of him to attend the event.

Some of the Golden Globes 2017 richest moments did not just come from Fallon but from presenters and winners. "Despicable Me" duo Steve Carell and comedian Kristen Wiig killed it with their chemistry and intro when presenting the Best Animated film.

Presenters of the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture, Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn were equally hilarious at exhibiting heir delightful skills to audiences both live and at home. Best Performance by an actor in a Supporting Role in a Series awardee, Hugh Laurie drew lots of cheers from the audience with his effortlessly-delivered acceptance speech. These five just made themselves candidates to host the awards night in 2018, according to Deadline.
