Xiaomi is pegged to enter the U.S. markets soon. An alleged Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 seems to be heading to the U.S.
Xiaomi is rumored to be working on the release of Redmi Note 4X, an upgraded edition of Redmi Note 4 phablet that was unveiled in August 2016. A Snapdragon powered Redmi Note smartphone has received FCC (Federal Communications Commission) certification in the U.S.
According to The Leaker, it may be Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 or Snapdragon version of Redmi Note 4. The Note 4X that is expected to release soon is also said to be powered by Snapdragon chipset, but it has a front-mounted fingerprint. This is an indication that Redmi Note 4X is not the device heading to the U.S.
The alleged Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 is expected to house a 5.5-inch full HD display. It is rumored to be shielded by Coring Gorilla Glass 4.
The FCC document reveals that the rumored Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 has a model number of 2016102. It measures 150 x75 mm. It seems to be slightly smaller than the Redmi Note 4 that measures 151 x 76 mm.
The Redmi Note 4 that is powered by MediaTek Helio X20 chipset comes with a 4,100 mAh battery enabled with fast charging feature. The alleged Redmi Note 5 will be either powered by Snapdragon 653 or 652 SoC, but fast charging will be absent for its slightly smaller battery of 4,000 mAh capacity.
The Redmi Note 5 is expected to come in storage sizes of 32 GB and 64 with 4 GB of RAM on both devices. The Redmi Note has 2 GB RAM on its 16 GB model whereas its 3 GB RAM model has 32 GB of storage.
According to the publication, the Redmi Note 5 will include features like Android 7.0 Nougat MIUI 9 OS, a USB Type-C port, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11n and GPS. However, these information have not been revealed by FCC listing. Since Redmi Note 5 and Redmi Note 4X smartphones have received certification from regulatory bodies, the arrival seems to be around the corner.
