Lei Jun, chairman and CEO of Xiaomi Technology and chairman of Kingsoft Corp., delivers a speech at a launch event in Beijing, China.

Ahead of Xiaomi's event on Jan. 19 in New Delhi, the Chinese tech firm's Redmi Note 4X device is spotted online, with its specs and revamped design revealed in a Chinese microblogging site.

The leaked images of Redmi Note 4X have surfaced through a Chinese Weibo page, according to M&A. However, the latest image renders review a different design prior to an earlier listing in TENAA.

As spotted on Chinese Certification Website TENNA last month, the upcoming Redmi Note 4X was reported to sport capacitive navigation buttons. However, the recent images leaked shows Redmi Note 4X carrying a physical home button up front.

In addition, no fingerprint scanner in the rear panel is shown in the latest image renders of the said Redmi Note 4X. If rumors are to be believed, the physical home button on the device may double as an embedded fingerprint scanner.

Although a revamped design was shown on the recent renders, the antenna bands are still running along the top and bottom of the smartphone as seen on the TENAA listing.

Rumors suggest that the specs for the alleged Redmi Note 4X will be similar with the Redmi Note 4. According to BGR, the said Redmi Note 4X may come with either a MediaTek Helio X20 or a Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 processor, coupled with a 4 GB of RAM and two internal memory options, a 32GB and 64GB.

In its optics department, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4X smartphone may bring a 13-megapixel rear camera, with no details yet on its front-snapper. The smartphone will reportedly house a hefty 4,100mAh battery, and will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow-based MIUI 8.1 firmware.

Specs-wise, the Redmi Note 4 features a full-metal unibody, a 5.5-inch FullHD IPS display with a 1080p resolution and curved 2.5D glass. Powering a 10-core MediaTek Helio X20 processor, the smartphone comes in two variants of 2GB of RAM with 16GB internal storage, and 3GB of RAM with 64GB internal storage, expandable via a microSD card up to 128GB.

In addition, the smartphone mounts a fingerprint scanner in the rear panel and USB Type-C port for charging and data syncing purposes. Its connectivity options include dual-SIM support (hybrid setup), 4G LTE with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. It runs Android Marshmallow-based MIUI 8 out of the box.

No official announcement is released by Xiaomi about the Redmi Note 4X's release date, although Xiaomi is expected to introduce a Qualcomm-based version of the Redmi Note 4 during the upcoming Jan. 19 event in India.
