President of Mayweather Promotions Floyd Mayweather addresses the crowd during the press conference announcing the Badou Jack v James DeGale Super Middleweight World Title Unification Bout at Barclays Center on November 16, 2016 in the Brooklyn borough of

Floyd Mayweather and Ronda Rousey may have had a bad history in the past but that did not prevent 'Money' from offering words of encouragement to 'Rowdy' who suffered a stunning first round knockout against Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 on Dec. 30.

The former boxing pound-for-pound king joined many of those who consoled Rousey in the wake of her second consecutive Ultimate Fighting Championship defeat by saying that she should not treat the loss as the end of the world and said that her loss was due to the fact that she took a time off from mixed martial arts and shied away from the spotlight, Fox Sports reported.

Although not suffering a defeat in his legendary boxing career, Mayweather added that Rousey remains a true champion for him and many of her believers and said that she is the reason why women's MMA is in its state now and she needs to stay focused and bounce back from adversity.

There was animosity surrounding both fighters when Rousey took a slight jab at Mayweather's history of domestic violence after winning the ESPY for Best Fighter award and saying, "I wonder how Floyd feels being beat by a woman for once," ESPN reported. She then added fuelled to fire by telling her fans on her Ask Me Anything Reddit segment by saying she would defeat the undefeated boxer in a no-rules fight.

For the meantime, there is still no news whether Rousey would come back to fight again inside the Octagon as she weighs her career path. Mayweather, meanwhile, has made it clear that he would only make a boxing comeback if he is paid $100 million. Recently, UFC president Dana White called out Mayweather to fight UFC's biggest star Conor McGregor for a $25 million payday but he declined, calling White a "comedian."
