"Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will hit theatres May 5, 2017.

Although Marvel has revealed some plot points about "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" there are some aspects of the movie that remain a top secret. One of which is the villain Ayesha and what her story and agenda is about. Here's everything we know about the villain Ayesha in the "Guardians of the Galaxy" sequel.

Elizabeth Debicki plays Ayesha

Debicki is taking on the role of Ayesha in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." "The Night Manager" actress was confirmed to play the role during Marvel's presentation at the San Diego Comic-Con last year. "Ayesha is the golden High Priestess of a genetically-perfect people called the Sovereign. She's not a woman to be screwed with - she, and her entire world, are extraordinarily deadly," comicbook.com quoted director James Gunn as saying.

Ayesha is a different person in the comics

Ayesha is known by a different name in the Marvel comics. She is a female character referred to as Kismet. She was created by the Citadel of Science together with Adam Warlock. Although artificially created, Kismet is extremely powerful. Her abilities include storing and manipulating cosmic energy. She can also project force bolts and she can also fly.

Debicki's Ayesha is a formidable foe for the Guardians because of her regenerating ability, which means she can recover quickly even from serious injuries just by wrapping herself in a cosmic energy cocoon.

Ayesha's appearance in "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2"

Ayesha took various names and forms in the comic books, but her potential appearance in the "Guardians" sequel was revealed by toy maker Funko. According to Screen Rant, Funko has released the Pink Size Heroes collection of "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2." The collection includes the core Guardians team as well as a blonde character presumed to be Ayesha. She also appears to be wearing a Nova Corps. uniform, which suggests that the character may be slightly different than how she was portrayed in the comics.

In the meantime, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" will be out in theaters oi April 2017.
