AMC Confirms 'The Walking Dead' Spinoff Series For 2 Seasons; Show's Title Yet To Be Decided

AMC has confirmed that they are interested in two seasons of "The Walking Dead" show, as per reports by Rolling Stone. The name of the series is yet to be decided and the probables, which are doing the rounds are - "Cobalt" and "Fear the Walking Dead".

The first season of the yet to be named show would start in the summer with just six episodes, of one hour duration each. And the follow-up second season would be telecast the next year in 2016.

Though the production house has managed to keep most of the details of the show under wraps till now, yet a few details have emerged, which suggest that the show would be set in Los Angeles and would understandably be enacted out in the same universe as the noted show "The Walking Dead".

The pilot of the much-anticipated show has been written by the team of Dave Erickson and Robert Kirkman. Erickson is known for being the producer of "Low Winter Sun" and "Sons of Anarchy" and would also be present in the capacity as the showrunner of the spinoff series. The other cast members of the show include Kim Dickens, Alycia Debnam, Cliff Curtis and Frank Dillane.

As per reports by PTI News, Cliff Curtis would in all probability be the main lead of the show.

AMC president Charlie Collier revealed a few details about the show in a statement that, "From the beginning of The Walking Dead on AMC, we've been asked questions about what was going on in other parts of the zombie apocalypse and what it looked like as the world really did turn. Through this new series, we're going to find out."
