First lady Melania Trump arriving at Donald Trump's inaugral ceremony

At the inauguration of Donald Trump as the 45th President of the United States, first lady Melania Trump already made headlines as she appeared dressed in powder-blue cashmere dress and matching bolero jacket by Ralph Lauren. What we saw later was Melania Trump being widely compared to former first lady Jackie Kennedy.

Due to her unusual fashion choice for the inauguration, Melania later became a sensation over the social media and was appreciated for it. Though Ralph Lauren's designs have been widely accepted by the high-profile delegates including the three former first ladies including Betty Ford, Nancy Reagan and Michelle Obama, this time we got reminded of Jacqueline Kennedy.

Time and again, Mrs. Trump has quoted that she finds a great deal of herself with Mrs. Kennedy and sees a role model in her. It seems now that what she says is true as far as her dressing sense is considered. Since the time the inaugural festivities have started, this has been the third appearance when Mrs. Trump has chosen the Ralph Lauren look.

This has very well connected Melania Trump to not only the American Fashion establishment but has also established an association with the American History. It is well known that Ralph Lauren is one designer who has very well built and sold the idea of the great American dream.

His close associations with Hillary Clinton, during the election campaign, was also noticed. In other words, it was a very well calculated choice of the outfit. While Mrs. Clinton also wore her Ralph Lauren suit in the swearing-in ceremony - a white trouser style that is much evocative of the Ralph Lauren suit she wore to accept the Democratic nomination for president. On the other hand, Ivanka Trump wore a white suit by Oscar de la Renta, as per The Telegraph.

Earlier Mr. Lauren had said that they will not be dressing up Mrs. Trump, it seems that now there could be certain flaks considering the same. As soon as the news broke about Lauren dressing up Melania, many Ralph Lauren followers and clients posted their anger on twitter saying they would no longer shop from the brand.

A spokesman for Mr. Lauren explained, "The presidential inauguration is a time for the United States to look our best to the world. It was important to us to uphold and celebrate the tradition of creating iconic American style for this moment," as per The New York Times.
