"Shovel Knight" will be launching for the Nintendo Switch. The developers at Yacht Club Games have now announced it is releasing relatively close to the release of the Switch in March and this port of the game will be the first version to get both the "Treasure Trove" edition and the "Specter of Torment" DLC campaign.

The Switch version of the game will feature co-op gameplay using the Switch Joy-Con controllers, Yacht Club Games announced on the official site. They also explained that the Switch port will come with the aforementioned DLC, the Body Swap Mode and new challenges.

A Sound Test Mode has also been announced and this will allow players to listen to any track from the three main campaigns. These three campaigns include the original main storyline, now dubbed "Shovel of Hope," and the two DLCs: "Plague of Shadows" and "Specter of Torment."

Yacht Club Games also announced that a demonstration of the co-op mode, using the Joy-Con controllers, will be presented during the PAX South event. This will be held from Jan. 27 to Jan. 29 in San Antonio, Texas.

The "Treasure Trove" edition contains all of the DLCs and all of the updates that the game has received since its initial launch in 2014. Yacht Club Games further clarifies that people who have already bought the game before will get all the "Treasure Trove" updates and DLCs for free.

"Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove" will cost $24.99 and the "Specter of Torment" DLC will be made available for just $9,99. The Switch will receive all of this in March as the developers explain all other console and PC ports will receive them sometime in April.

Gamers aiming to get all the updates for free are advised to buy it now since "Shovel Knight" currently costs $14.99, Game Rant reported. The official price will bump up to the aforementioned $24.99 when the game is retitled to "Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove."
