A boxing fight between former pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather and Ultimate Fighting Championship star Conor McGregor could be one of the biggest in boxing history that is why plenty want to belong in the action, notably eight-time champion Manny Pacquiao.

'The People's Champ' said that he is open to fighting McGregor if the Irish's bout does not fall through against Mayweather. Pacquiao said he can consider facing the reigning UFC lightweight champion but in the boxing ring only, Fox Sports Australia reported. However, that possible fight might be pushed to a later date as Pacquiao is set to lock horns against Australian Jeff Horn on April.

McGregor and Mayweather have been exchanging banters in the media but they still have not settled with the price of the fight. McGregor called out Mayweather for a $100 million fight but the undefeated boxer offered just $15 million for the 28-year-old.

UFC president Dana White made the first official offer to make the bout happen, saying he would give both fighters $25 million and maybe a share of the pay per view buys. However, Mayweather, who has maintained a $100 million payday could only make him come back out of retirement, called White a "f***ing comedian," The Sun reported.

Though McGregor is considered one of the best strikers in the UFC, Pacquiao thinks the Irish will not win against his boxing rival, whom he faced in the biggest pay per view fight in boxing history.

Amid the fight rumors, McGregor will not be back in the fighting world any time soon as he took a hiatus from UFC estimated for 10 months as he has to attend to his pregnant wife, Dee Devlin, who will be giving birth for their first baby this year. Mayweather, meanwhile, has made it clear that he focuses on promoting young fighters and guiding his children.
