"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 star Camilla Luddington's pregnancy may actually be written into her character's storylines.
According to US Weekly, fans of Jo and Alex (Justin Chambers) are convinced that Jo is carrying Alex's baby. Even though the couple had a major fight during the first half of Season 13, this does not mean that they never had sex.
In episode 10, Jo, Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) successfully tended to a patient at the women's prison. On their way back to the city, Bailey decided to update Jo and Arizona on Alex's case. She told the two residents that Alex decided to take the plea deal and will most likely go to prison.
Arizona, who has been working with Alex for several years in the nursery, was shocked and upset over her partner's decision. Jo, on the other hand, was shocked, emotional and very confused on why her boyfriend did not think about her and their future.
Jo asked Arizona to stop the car, and she did. The former opened the door of the car and vomited. Immediately after the scene aired on the hit ABC series, fans started speculating on the possibility of Jo being pregnant in the show as well.
Previously, the British actress told TV Line that anything can happen in the series. But as of the time of her interview, she knows her character will not be pregnant in "Grey's Anatomy." Season 13.
"As of right now they are definitely hiding it. The struggle has just started," she said. "We have a lot more episodes to go this season and these things can get sprung on us at a table read, so I cannot really say for sure if it will stay that way," she said.
In a separate interview with Entertainment Tonight, Luddington's response to the same question seemed different. When asked to comment on Jo and Alex's relationship, Luddington said that she is still rooting for them, but knows for sure that their relationship is very messy.
"Grey's Anatomy" Season 13 airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. EST on ABC.
