Kim Go-Eun and Gong Yoo star in the tvN drama 'Goblin.'

"Goblin" star Gong Yoo will not be part of Kim Eun Sook's upcoming K-drama.

During a recent interview, the writer of the successful tvN drama shared that she wants to work with the likes of Kang Dong Won and Won Bin. But none of this will happen until she completes her three-month vacation.

"To start, I am going to have a 3-month vacation, resting period. After resting, I will start to work towards my next project and will be aiming to complete it by the first half of next year," she said.

"Goblin" was a huge success not only when it premiered, but until it aired its three-hour finale on Saturday, Jan. 21. The cable TV show received a massive 20.5 rating - a rating that has never been achieved by any K-drama that aired on the same platform.

Talking about her involvement in "Goblin," Kim Eun Sook shared that she was always interested in historic dramas so writing episodes of the show was not challenging for her.

"I have always had an interest in historic dramas and through 'Goblin' - I kind of feel that I have experimented enough to actually do a full historic drama as my next project," she said.

Meanwhile, Kim Eun Sook also dished on what her goal is when creating a K-drama such as "Goblin." According to her, the main goal is to always make the viewers happy so they will tune in until the end.

"Beyond financial expectations - we have to place an importance towards happiness. Happiness with the viewers, production staff and actors. Everyone has to work in a happy, positive environment and through this atmosphere - one can create a meaningful work," she said.

In other news, Gong Yoo revealed that Kim Eun Sook offered him different projects within the past five years, but it was only with "Goblin" that he finally agreed to go on board.

"The reason I rejected previous offers was not because I feel like I was special, but because I was afraid of shooting a drama. Unless it is a pre-made drama, the physical conditions are quite different. I am not putting the blame on the environment, but as an actor, I want to show my performance when I am in my best condition," he said.
