'Mass Effect Andromeda' is a space adventure role playing game from Bioware's popular 'Mass Effect' gaming franchise.

The lead developers of the upcoming "Mass Effect: Andromeda" game reveal more details about the sci-fi RPG. It includes some insight on the status of the cross-play capability of the game between its PC and console versions.

Unfortunately, "Mass Effect: Andromeda" producer Fernando Melo confirmed in Twitter that the game's multiplayer mode will not support cross-platform play. Also, the game will not have any dedicated servers, which means that, like "Mass Effect 3," it will use peer-to-peer servers.

Cross-play between the PC and other console platforms is still in its infant stages, with Xbox recently just beginning to implement the feature between the Xbox One consoles and Windows PCs, according to Game RantAlso, no game was able to successfully link Sony and Microsoft, and as such both companies keep their online environments mutually exclusive.

A lot of players prefer games with dedicated servers due to the fact that it helps reduce latency problems as well as other connection issues. Peer-to-peer servers are also known for being unsecure, thus exploitable by hackers. However, "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will not have a competitive death match multiplayer environment anyway, making the decision expected.

Regardless, "Mass Effect: Andromeda" will have an unlocked frame rate for the PC version, which greatly benefits players with high-end gaming PCs. With this, players can go way past the 30FPS limit imposed on its console counterparts.

In other news, the game "Gears of War 4" added a cross-platform play feature in their Social Quickplay mode, according to PC GamerWhile it still proves that the feature is not yet ready for Core and Competitive multiplayer modes, the effort is still commendable considering the fact that games tend to lose some of their player base as time goes by.

"Mass Effect: Andromeda" is released on March 21 for the PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Here is the latest trailer for the game:
