20th Century Fox has ordered for two upcoming medical pilot series

It has been recently reported that Fox has ordered two pilots - medical drama "The Resident" and "Controversy," about sexual assault on college campuses. Both the pilots are a one-hour long dramatization from the 20th Century Fox Television.

The pilot will be based on the Junior Counsel of prestigious Illinois University. The storyline of the council revolves around the council who takes on an immense scandal when a young co-ed accuses several star football players of sexual assault - a high profile case that brings the university under siege.

On the other hand, a different pilot known as the "The Resident" will be based on the life of a young doctor, who begins his first day under the supervision of a senior resident. The senior resident seems to be intelligent and pulls the curtain back on all of the good and evil in modern day medicine.

The pilot will have a good team of producers including scribes Amy Holden Jones, Hayley Schore and Roshan Sethi. While Holden Jones, will be the executive producer, the other two will serve as the co-executive producers of the pilot. Other ex-producers include Oly Obst and Antoine Fuqua

Fuqua Films and 3 Arts Entertainment is producing with 20th Century Fox TV. In "Controversy," the Junior Counsel of a prestigious Illinois university must deal with an out-of-control scandal when a young co-ed accuses several star football players of sexual assault.

The series deals with the fact that how football coaches and boosters manipulate students under the influence of others. Also, it describes how a high profile controversial matter becomes a regular issue these days on college campuses. This in-turn transforms being dangerous for the institution as well.

The pilot is written by Sheldon Turner. The team of directors will include, John Requa and Glenn Ficarra, who will also serve as executive producers. The team will also include Jennifer Klein, Charlie Gogolak and real-life fixer Judy Smith, who are behind ABC's "Scandal", as per Deadline.com.

Vendetta Productions and Zaftig Films are on board, along with 20th. The two pilots join Fox's slate of dramas in contention for the 2017-2018 season, including a TV reboot of the war movie "Behind Enemy Lines," the post-apocalyptic vampire thriller "The Passage," and an X-Men pilot from Matt Nix and Bryan Singer, who will direct, as reported by Variety.
