Bayern Munich is on a seven-game winning streak after the 1-0 loss to Borussia Dortmund in November. The team continues to be on top of the league table at the moment, three points ahead of second-place squad RB Leipzig.

The Bavarians are coming off a 2-1 victory over lowly side Werder Bremen on the road at the Weser-Stadion last Saturday, as per BBC Sport.

Dutch winger Arjen Robben opened the scoring in the 30th minute of the match for head coach Carlo Ancelotti's side with a left-footed shot from the center of the box off an assist by Franck Ribery.

Austrian defender David Alaba then doubled the lead in the first half injury time to give the visitors a 2-0 advantage at the break.

Werder Bremen was able to trim the lead to one point with a goal by forward Max Kruse in the 53rd minute coming from an assist by Zlatko Junuzovic.

Both sides went scoreless after that as Bayern came away with the win and three points in the standings.

Meanwhile, Schalke has been reeling lately with only one win in their last six outings. The team is currently settled in the 11th spot of the 18-team German top flight table, only six points above the bottom three relegation area and nine points below sixth-running team Hertha Berlin, who holds the final Europa League qualifying berth for next season.

Die Knappen was nipped by third-place squad Eintracht Frankfurt, 1-0, at their home ground of Veltins Arena last Friday, ESPN reported.

Eintracht captain Alex Meier provided the lone goal of the match for the visitors as they handed head coach Markus Weinzierl's squad their ninth loss of the season.
