"Doctor Strange" is an upcoming superhero film based on the Marvel Comics superhero of the same name. It will also serve as the fourteenth installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The film will star Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange while another actor (to be confirmed) will play as the Ancient One.

Last December 2014, Cumberbatch expressed his excitement on his upcoming movie at the British Independent Film Awards, according to Mirror.

"Excited, really excited, you know," he said at the film event. "There's a lot of work to be done and I'm just at the beginning of it so I'm not going to talk too much about it's a thrilling gig to get and I can't wait. Very excited," the actor added.

Some notable roles the actor played last year were Alan Turing in "The Imitation Game", the voice of Classified in "Penguins of Madagascar", and the voice of Smaug and Necromancer in "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies".

Cumberbatch's known projects this 2015 are "Sherlock" (TV Series), "Sherlock: The Special", and "National Theatre Live: Hamlet". Aside from "Doctor Strange", his projects for the upcoming years are "The Hollow Crown", "Sherlock", "Magik", "Flying Horse", and "Jungle Book: Origins".

Meanwhile, a Reddit user posted information about "Doctor Strange". The said user revealed the start of filming as well as the villain of the first film.

"Okay, so filming starts in May, so I feel comfortable revealing this info since Marvel's bound to release it soon (I'm surprised it's taken them this long to be honest)," the user said.

"The villain of the first film is Baron Mordo, with references to Dormammu ala Thanos in 'Guardians of the Galaxy' The film will deal with either the Time or Soul Gem (with 'Guardians 2' around the corner, I presume they are using the Soul Gem, so it's likely the Time Gem but that's just me), which will tie it into 'Avengers'," the Reddit user added.

The post also added that there will be an additional female character named Umar, which has no announced cast yet. Another piece of information is that Doctor Strange will meet Scarlet Witch during "Infinity War", uniting Witch into the "Doctor Strange" future installments.

The film is set to be piloted by Scott Derrickson, with Victoria Alonso, Stephen Broussard, Louis D'Esposito, Kein Feige, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, and Charles Newirth as producers. Steve Ditko, Thomas Dean Donnelly, Stan Lee, Joshua Oppenheimer, and Jon Spaihts are the film writers.

"Doctor Strange" is slated to premiere in theaters and cinemas on November 04, 2016.
