Jackie Chan will lend his voice for China's 2022 Winter Olympic bid with the song "Wake Up Winter."

Jackie Chan, known for his internationally acclaimed action comedy films, recently recorded a 2022 Winter Olympic Games song, “Wake Up Winter,” in Beijing’s Chaoyang District.

Jackie, who is also a national political advisor, took some time off the annual two sessions and recorded the said song which will serve as the theme song of the country's application for the global sports phenomenon.

In the actor's usual comic stance, Jackie remarked: "In the morning, I am working for the two sessions; in the afternoon, for the application of Olympic Games."

Wang Jiuping, the "Wake Up Winter" composer, shared that the song "is a actually a call to people around the world, an incessant eagerness for the Olympic Spirit."

The Olympic rune also conveys the message of "longing for friendship between people and countries," Wang added.

Working on the song are a number of international and local music icons, including Zhao Jialin. Zhao is one of the main writers of the viral 2014 song, "Little Apple."

For the 2022 edition of the Winter Olympics, Beijing and Zhangjiakou jointly submitted a bid before the International Olympics Committee (IOC). Since then, the bid has earned immense support from the public and China's central government.

In lieu of the Olympic Games, both cities have also launched projects that will help them win the bid. These include the inter-city high-seed railway that will connect the co-bidders, and the heightened effort to address air pollution issues.

By the end of July, the co-bidding cities, along with sole competitor Almaty of Kazakhstan, will know the IOC's decision.
