2016 VH1's Divas Holiday: Unsilent Night - Arrivals

Had the Mariah Carey and James Packer wedding pushed through in Bora Bora in 2016, she would have worn a $250,000 Valentino wedding gown. But James Packer had already paid for the gown and it was with Mariah Carey even if they had split.

Rather than let the expensive gown go to waste, Mariah Carey used it for her new “I Don’t” music video. But it was not for a scene where she walked the aisle as a bride. She burned the gown in the music video, TMZ reports.

Ultimate Revenge

The music video was shot at the former mansion of the ex-couple in Calabasas, California. She really burned the gown, seen as her ultimate revenge on the Australian casino billionaire.

According to People, Maria Carey was wearing a tight red dress in the music video while she dances around a fire pit. She throws the white tulle gown into the blaze in the music video released on Friday. The single, a breakup ballad inspired by her real-life separation from James Packer, features rapper YG.

The lyrics include, “Cause when you love someone, you just don’t treat them bad, you messed up all we had … Probably think I’m coming back, but I don’t, I don’t.” She recorded the track of “I Don’t” which was featured on Sunday’s episode of “Mariah’s World.”

Processing Feelings

Mariah Carey shared on the show, an “E!” docu-series, that after her toured ended she took some time to process her feelings. She then began writing a song to express what she went through. “And if you’re not getting the love that you need from someone that you’re supposed to be in a real relationship with, then why remain in that situation?” she said.

There are rumors that Mariah Carey is in a new relationship with Bryan Tanaka, her choreographer, but she denied it.
