Shortly after Kelly Osbourne left the "Fashion Police," Kathy Griffin announced that she also left the show just after seven episodes as she shared that her style does not fit with the creative direction of the show.
According to US Weekly, the E! show already confirmed that Griffin left the show and that they wish her all the best and that they were grateful for her time on the show. Griffin stepped in for the post left by the late Joan Rivers and the show's next episode will still air as scheduled, which is on March 30, with the hosts left namely Giuliana Rancic and Brad Goreski, who will both be joined by the show's executive producer Melissa Rivers.
Griffin also left the show just after she commented on Rancic's weed joke regarding Zendaya's hair durin the 87th annual Oscars last month. Griffin took it to her Twitter account to talk about her quitting the show and it was a very lengthy statement but she pointed out that her style does not fit the show and it's already time to move on.
She adds, "When I chose to step into the shoes of my beloved Joan Rivers...I was thrilled to continue her legacy as a woman being brash and eccentric on television. I am a freedom-loving female and gay rights activist who loves to find the funny in all people, attitudes, beliefs, and appearances, but only when the context permits intelligent humor."
Griffin is known for her harsh comments and humor but she pointed out that she does not want to use her comedy to contribute to a culture of unattainable perfectionism. She also does not want to be part of the show that does not tolerate "difference".
According to USA Today, she also told Chicago times in an e-mailed interview that the show wanted to have a segment called "Whore Score" and she thought that name-calling and alliteration is not accepted by the people today.
