‘Lucifer’ Season 2, episode 14 is not airing on Feb. 6: New airdate and spoilers

"Lucifer" Season 3 still has not yet been renewed by FOX. Even though the ratings for the Tom Ellis starrer have been consistent, the lack of confirmation from the network does not put the series on a good light.

According to TV Line, "Lucifer" will most likely be renewed for a third season, but why has FOX not made any announcements yet as of late? Halfway through Season 1, FOX already renewed the series for a second season. In fact, a few weeks after the renewal, the network announced that they want additional episodes for Season 2.

The same publication revealed that "Lucifer" Season 2 was supposed to only have a total of 13 episodes just like in its first season. But in October 2016, nine more episodes were ordered by FOX.

Following the announcement, FOX entertainment president David Madden expressed his happiness over the success of "Lucifer." The exec added that "Lucifer" served as a good companion to "Gotham" and should therefore be part of their lineup for as long as possible.

However, Madden has stayed mum about a Season 3 renewal. It is also unclear whether or not the upcoming episode, if renewed, will have a total of 13 or 22 episodes.

Meanwhile, "Lucifer" Season 2 is on a three-month hiatus and will return with episode 14, titled "Candy Morningstar," on May 1. In the episode, Lucifer's (Ellis) whereabouts will finally be revealed.

In the winter finale, titled "A Good Day to Die," Lucifer decided to leave Los Angeles without informing Chloe (Lauren German), his mom, Charlotte (Tricia Helfer) and the rest of her peers. When Chloe arrived at Lucifer's apartment, she was shocked to see that all of his things have been covered.

Lucifer is not pleased with how his loved ones lied to him about Chloe. Previously, the lead character thought that what Chloe felt for him was genuine. But he discovered that Chloe was put in his path by his own father to test him.

Chloe does not have any idea that she is a miracle child so she also thinks that her feelings for Lucifer are real.

"Lucifer" Season 2 airs Mondays at 9 p.m. EST on FOX.
