Netflix series "Stranger Things" will preview its second season trailer at the Super Bowl on Sunday. The hit sci-fi supernatural series will hopefully give hints to fans as to what to expect in the upcoming season which is set to air in July.

Entertainment Weekly scored first dibs about the much-awaited trailer of "Stranger Things" Season 2. The entertainment news website revealed a screenshot of the season 2 trailer video which they also confirmed have secured an ad spot and will be played at the Super Bowl on Sunday.

The image shared by the same publication shows Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo), Mike (Finn Wolfhard) and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) dressed as Ghostbusters. The second season is reportedly set in 1984, a year after the strange events - from the missing of Will and appearance of Demagorgons - in the first season happened.

While the upcoming season is shrouded with mystery, "Stranger Things" Executive Producer Shawn Levy shared a few hints to the same publication. "The Demogorgon was destroyed but evil wasn't," he said to the entertainment news website.

"Stranger Things" Season 2 will have 9 episodes, Hollywood Life reported. The upcoming season will also bring new faces namely, Sean Astin, Paul Reiser and Linnea Berthelsen. They will be joining the original cast which includes Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Noah Schnapp along with Matarazzo, Wolfhard and McLaughlin.

During the Fan2Sea Comic Con cruise on Jan. 21, Harbour who plays Chief Hopper in the series gave out a few details on what fans will see in the new season. He revealed Astin will be playing as Ryder's boyfriend.

"We have Sean Astin... he's Winona's new boyfriend - much to the chagrin to the Chief of Police," Hollywood Life quoted Harbour during the Fan2Sea Comic Con in January.

He also described how the "Justice for Barb" idea will take place and confirmed Barb's character will not come back in the second season of "Stranger Things." "The question and the feelings that Nancy has that no one ever cares about her friend Barb, are very much present in the beginning of the season," Harbour explained.
