Disney has confirmed its plans to make a sequel to their superhit animated musical "Frozen", which raked in more than $1 billion two years back, as per reports by Irish Times. Disney officials shared the welcome news during their shareholder meeting, much to the delight of the fans.

Disney refused to name the release date of the proposed sequel but they did say that the director and the producers of the original film are on board for the much-anticipated sequel. The news was expected for some time, as it would help Disney to keep the franchise of the hit movie "Frozen" alive. As it is, the "Frozen" merchandise is a mega bucks money spinner for the company, with sales amounting to almost $1 billion in a year, roughly equal to what the movie made in the first place.

There is also a rumor that "Frozen" might soon find itself on Broadway as well and a theme park is also being developed in Florida, based on the animated film, as reported by News EveryDay.

"We're going back to Arendelle," according to John Lasseter, who is the chief creative officer at Walt Disney Animation Studios.

At the shareholders' meeting, Disney also took the opportunity to announce that a Star War's standalone film "Rogue" would be released in 2016 and "Star Wars: Episode VIII" would hit the theatres in May, 2017. Needless to say, the Star War's fans have been delighted with the bonanza that awaits them soon. Meanwhile "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" is all set to release in Dec 2015.
