Luca Todesco is still working on the iOS jailbreak he made available via Yalu. He took to Twitter to reveal that a new update for the software is coming soon.
The Italian developer deployed an iOS jailbreak to iOS fans which he later on update it a few days ago to offer support to the iOS 10.2. However, it still remains in a semi-tethered and beta stage as posted on iDownoad Blog.
As a result, the jailbreak need to use a signed developer certificate from Apple in order to sideload. The available certificate that's is been used on Todesco's iOS 10.2 jailbreak is valid for only a week, although the hacker is working on a workaround for it.
In his tweet, Todesco noted that a working solution for the 7 day cert is in the process and he said, "so please bear with Cydia Impactor for another week or so." The way tweeted, it is unclear if it will come from him or another developer.
In addition, he did not provide a timeframe as to when jailbreak lovers can enjoy this update, but should it see the light of day, the jailbreak might extend the said seven-day limit to a year. Currently, the iOS 10.2 jailbreak Yalu update is only working on a number of last-generation Apple devices due to the fact that the iPhone 7 is tending to be difficult to jailbreak, 9to5 Mac reported.
Todesco has been very adamant on releasing such software that will give support to the current-gen smartphone. However, he clarified that he will make an update of the Yalu iOS 10.1.1 jailbreak for the gadget "at some point," although it is "just not a priority right now."
He also revealed that after the iOS 10.2 jailbreak for the older gadgets, he will not release another. In his tweet, he said, "I will stop all public iOS research after I drop that 10.2 thing." Adding that the idiocy of the jailbreak community is too much for him to handle.
