PewDiePie's Jewish friend defends YouTuber from Nazi controversy; Here's the other side of the story

PewDiePie and girlfriend Marzia spent Valentine's Day playing "Genital Jousting."

Renowned YouTube vlogger PewDiePie (Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg) is in hot water as of late after one of his video skits backfired at him resulting in the severance of his corporate ties with Disney-owned Maker Studios. Things got even worse when YouTube canned his show on the video sharing website.

Dubbed "Scare PewDiePie," the online show is on its sophomore season when it got axed by YouTube. Moreover, the website is said to boot out the vlogger from the Google Preferred roster due to the recent contents that he uploaded, according to Kotaku.

Albeit the negative feedback Pewds has been getting as of late, entertainment buffs believe that online celebrities have definitely delved the mainstream. In a statement obtained by Variety, SuperData Research CEO Joost van Dreunen stated that if Pewds have done such antics several years ago, nobody would have taken this seriously.

Fellow YouTuber and long time friend Ethan Klein from H3H3 Productions spilled out his two cents about the issue. In defense of his friend and as a Jew himself, Klein pointed out that despite the severity, what Pewds did was clearly for hilarity though many especially the media has taken it out of context.

For those who are unaware, both the Fiverr guys and PewDiePie's Fiverr accounts were banned by the website. After finding out what happened, Pewds reached out to Fiverr requesting to lift the ban on those Fiverr guys which was lifted later on. Aside from this, another Fiverr freelancer - Jesus Christ was also banned from the service and as a result, the YouTuber donated $500 to the freelancer's Go Fund Me account.

PewDiePie, on the other hand, seems to take it quite good as his recent vlog showcased him and his girlfriend Marzia Bisognin. The couple celebrated Valentine's with their online fans as they played a video game dubbed "Genital Jousting."
