Gong Yoo attends the 'Train To Busan (Bu_San-Haeng)' photocall during the 69th Annual Cannes Film Festival on May 14, 2016 in Cannes, France.

In the recent survey, "Goblin" came out as the best among screenwriter Kim Eun Sook's works. Other writers lauded the recently-concluded fantasy series as her life's piece.

Airing on Korea's cable network tvN from Dec. 2, 2016 to Jan. 21, the fantasy series "Goblin" tells the story of a 939-year-old Goblin played by Gong Yoo, who is searching for his mortal bride so his immortal life will end. He lives with a Grim Reaper, played by Lee Dong Wook, who oversees the passing of souls. Goblin's mortal bride is a high school student named Ji Eun Tak played by Kim Go Eun.

The "Goblin" creator has been acknowledged as the country's best writer per the survey, according to TV Report.  She received more than half of the 30 votes as the most talented screenwriter and television writer.

Out of the 30 votes in favor of Kim, 19 came from writers and professionals in the entertainment industry. Kim wrote many Korean dramas that became hits, some of which are "Lovers in Paris" in 2004, "Secret Garden" in 2010,  "A Gentleman's Dignity" in 2012, "The Heirs" in 2013, "Descendants of the Sun" and "Goblin" in 2016.  Her works have received an average viewer rating of 22.05 percent.

Kim's type of writing focuses on interesting stories and characters. She does not concern herself if her stories seem to follow some previous patterns, such as a Cinderella story or about a wealth male lead.

"I didn't care because I wanted to write for new characters, not come up with new background material," Kim previously told  Korea Joongang Daily. "So I've focused more on writing some not-yet-imagined episodes or lines in the drama."

Kim added that her story's setting may not be so special but sees to it that the episodes are fresh and appealing. She wants to write about romantic relationships between a man and a woman because it is her type of love and she is inspired by the love between her and her husband.

Kim's multi-awarded "Descendants of the Sun" stayed away from the wealthy-guy-meets-poor-girl plot. It was the story of a soldier and a medical doctor who fall in love while deployed in another country.
