"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 recently saw the return of Kai (Chris Wood).
In last week's episode, Kai returned to Mystic Falls to make a deal with Damon (Ian Somerhalder). Since he was the one responsible for putting Elena (Nina Dobrev) into a deep slumber, he will remove the spell and resurrect the lead character if Damon will help him escape from hell.
Since Dobrev is confirmed to reprise her role in the final episode of "The Vampire Diaries" Season 8, it is already guaranteed that Kai will get rid of the spell. However, it is unclear whether or not Damon will fulfill his part of the bargain.
In an interview with TV Guide, Wood opened up about his character and how he came back to life considering Damon killed him at the end of Season 6 by chopping his head off.
According to the actor, Kai was able to find an escape out of hell. However, he will soon find out that he is not really as alive as he thinks he is. In fact, some unnatural sources are still trying to pull back to hell because his time on earth is very limited.
Despite not being fully alive, Wood said that Kai still has all of his powers with him as a hybrid and a siphoner. So he can take down anyone he wants if they will start bothering him.
Meanwhile, fans are excited to find out how Kai will resurrect Elena from her coma. While doing so, Kai will enjoy the moment that he has all of the power on everyone. However, he also has to consider the fact that Alaric (Matt Davis) is very pissed at him for getting of Jo in the previous season.
In the end, Kai will bring Elena back to life, and the latter will have no memory of what happened to her before she was placed inside a coffin.
In other news, Wood admitted that he had so much fun on the set of the hit The CW series. During his filming day, the actor realized that so much has changed with his co-stars since all of them are more experienced actors these days.
"The Vampire Diaries" Season 8 airs Fridays at 8 p.m. EST on The CW.
