Pete Dunne is one of the top stars from the United Kingdom the WWE signed following the success of the U.K. Championship Tournament earlier this January. In a recent interview, Dunne talked about a variety of topics including Triple H, Tyler Bate and more.

"The Bruiserweight" was one of the 16 superstars who participated in the WWE United Kingdom Championship tournament last January. He was one of the two finalists but he failed to capture the title as he lost to Bate in the finals.

Nevertheless, Dunne made a name for himself as he showcased his skills to the WWE universe. He also had a great showing in terms of his character as a heel. He attacked several participants on his way to the finals while also producing great matches with his fellow competitors.

Dunne told The Mirror in an interview that he was overwhelmed by the praise he got from Triple H, who is the creator of the tournament, as well as other legends like Shawn Michaels and Chris Jericho. The 24-year-old star was very thankful for the great words from some of the greatest wrestlers of all time.

"It was absolutely surreal the stuff that Triple H was saying. I was getting loads of tweets from people saying that Shawn Michaels had talked about me on Chris Jericho's podcast and then I got to meet Shawn Michaels when I was over in Florida," Dunne said.

The Birmingham native also talked Bate, who defeated him the in the U.K. tournament finals. He had nothing but praised for the 19-year-odl WWE U.K. champion. He revealed that they have been wrestling each other for many years and they are good friends.

"I think he's incredible. I always say to him he could be anything he wants to be. He could be the best wrestler in the world, the best powerlifter, the best bodybuilder. It's special for us in many ways, but I had a hand in training Tyler," Dunne said.

"I'm very proud of him. He had his first match with me and his first bookings. It was a really cool moment and I couldn't be happier for him," he added.

According to Wrestling Inc, Dunne and Bate, along with other competitors from the U.K. tournament will be flying to Florida for WrestleMania 33 weekend. They are expected to wrestle matches in several NXT tapings while still being under PROGRESS wrestling.
