China's turbojet snow-blowing tank clears the road in Inner Mongolia.

A footage of a military tank powered by a turbojet engine went viral. The footage caught the interest of many viewers on Weibo.

The vehicle is a tank that was seen in Boutou, a city in Inner Mongolia. The city was hit by heavy snow on Feb. 16.

The giant snow blower is an improvised version of a tank manufactured by the tank by Inner Mongolia First Machinery Group Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of China North Industries Group Corporation.

China's turbo snow blower tank used high temperature and strong air speed to blow away large piles of snow. The vehicle's speed is at 20 to 30 kilometers per hour.

The tank can speed up to 50 kilometers per hour.

A netizen commented, "It's really awesome to see an armored vehicle being used to remove the snow. It's a little bit noisy but proves to be very efficient."

Mongolia has been experiencing bone-chilling snow since January. Another video of a mailman on a horseback received much attention.

The mailman had to use to a horse to tread the thick snow.

The temperature in Mongolia has dropped to a minus 48 degrees Celsius. Thousands have been reported dead due to the freezing temperature across East Asia.

Meteorologists explain that the cold is a result of a cold air vortex that is sweeping over Asia from the south of the Arctic.

A report from the Associated Press revealed that 50 people died in Taiwan from hypothermia and cardiovascular disease. Other casualties were reported in Japan where five people froze to death.

Most of the victims were senior citizens who suffered from the severe cold.

Over 100 people were hospitalized in Hong Kong. In Dalian, lakes froze and stopped operations of many fishing vessels.

Flights to Jeju were canceled due to heavy snow and zero visibility.
