The popular cult leader and superpolygamist in Nigeria died early this year leaving his 203 wives and 203 children with some of the wives still pregnant.
The man first garnered attention in 2008. This man took the words "Go forth and multiply" too seriously. Believe it or not! The Nigerian has married 130 women and has fathered 185 children in his lifetime. Now, he is looking for new brides to impregnate.
In 2015, Mohammed Bello Abubakar has married 107 women but is still looking for more wives after he divorced 10 of them. Thus, at the moment, the cult leader is married to 97 women. With all of these women, the man fathered 185 children then.
Abubakar has continued to marry women despite his old age in order to fulfill what he believes is his mission in life handed to him by Allah, which is to marry and make children. The elderly believed that this is his divine calling. "I only have 97 wives; I am still going to marry more. I will keep marrying them for as long I am alive," Abubakar said in 2015.
Where do they all live?
Abubakar lives with all of his wives and children in a home with three floors in the central state of Nigeria. The sleeping arrangement of the peculiar family was not revealed to the media.
Abubakar believes that Allah has given him divine power to control all of his wives. Thus, many believe that there is no quarrel among the wives and children, especially since they all live under one roof.
In 2008, the cult leader also angered Islam authorities for his practice. He was once ordered by the authorities to divorce her 82 wives when he had 86 wives since Muslims believe to have at most four wives at a time. However, Abubakar challenged Islam scholars saying that there is no punishment stated in Koran for having more than four wives.
