Boruto battles Hokage Naruto in 'Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 4 Road to Boruto.'

Written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto, "Naruto" will have a spin-off titled "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations." The spin-off, which is serialized in a Japanese manga magazine, is written by Ukyō Kodachi and illustrated by Mikio Ikemoto.

As the title suggests, "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" will introduce a new kind of Konoha ninja and a new generation of heroes. The story will revolve around Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuga's son Boruto Uzumaki as the village of Konoha has managed to change and has been modernized into an era of peace.

As translated by Naruto Forums users BUUU and shippuden, the "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" synopsis reveals that the way to live in the ninja era has changed. Included in this change are high constructions, large computer monitors of transmission of images and streets connected to mobilize electric cars.

As the son of the seventh Hokage, Boruto suffers from prejudice while in the ninja academy. But he will meet new friends as he encounters new challenges.

In the beginning of "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations," Boruto will be younger. The story will follow him first as he enrolls in the ninja academy, where many of his classmates are children of Konoha's original heroes.

Aside from Boruto, the other characters expected to be in the "Naruto" spin-off are Sarada, Mitsuki and their teacher Konohamaru Sarutobi, who is also Naturo's friend. Sarada is Sasuke Uchiha and Sakura Haruno's friend while Mitsuki is Orochinaru's son.

An anime adaptation of "Boruto: Naruto Next Generations" will premiere on TV Tokyo on April 5. In the recent issue of Weekly Shōnen Jump, as cited by Comic Book, director Hiroyuki Yamashita and chief director Noriyuki Abe talked about the adaptation.

Yamashita told the magazine that he would be happy if those who expect great things from Boruto and those who are new to the series feel like they want to watch over him. As for Abe, he promised that he will never betray his fellow Naruto fans.
