Nissan Announces Third Generation 2015 Murano; New Car Winner Of U.S. News Award

Nissan recently announced that it will be releasing the third generation of its mid-sized, sports utility vehicle Murano. The new 2015 Murano has a redesigned V-shaped front grille, LED head and tail lights and gorgeous looking lines at its sides. The car has been hailed by the U.S. news as the "Best 2-Row SUV for the Money."

The interior of the 2015 Nissan Murano also received some minor overhaul with its new dashboard design as well as upgraded gauges. Nissan also throw in some interesting feature to the new Murano, these include rearview camera which is very helpful in parking, dual climate control and all variants of the vehicle will have a push-button start.

Compared to its predecessor, the new Murano is longer and wider. All Murano variants will have a V6 260-horsepower engine integrated with continuously variable transmission which is also present in its previous incarnation, according to Fox News.

The upgrade as well as new added features also comes in with a price and the new Murano has a slightly higher price tag compared to the last model. Starting price for the 2015 Murano S with the front-wheel drive is $30,445 and that already includes destination charges. An all-wheel drive variant come with a starting price of $32,045 including destination charges.

The 2015 Murano comes in four variants; the S, SV, SL and Platinum. The four-wheel drive Platinum model has a retail price of $41,485 including destination charge.

The Murano will be facing stiff competition against the 2015 Ford Edge SUV and the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee among others. However, there is a massive gap between these cars in terms of pricing. The 2015 Ford Eagle with v6 280-horsepower six-speed automatic and front wheel drive model has a retail price of $29,420 and that already includes destination charges. On the other hand, the 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee with a V6 290-horsepower eight-speed automatic and front drive model has a retail price of only $30,990 including destination charges, according to Torque News.
