"Deadpool" star Ryan Reynolds and "Gossip Girl" alum Blake Lively got married in 2012.

Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively finally revealed their daughter's name.

In a visit to "The Today Show", Reynolds broke the silence by saying that couple's daughter has been named James. When asked why the couple did not reveal the name of their daughter, Reynolds said "Because as we know, little girls turn into teenage girls and little teenage girls sometimes scan through the archives and go, 'Why did you do that?'"

Reynolds and Lively like to keep their family life private, they have been avoiding public attention when it came to their daughter's name as well. In today's scenario the trend for giving babies a unisex name has become very common.

It was previously rumored that the couple's baby name was Violet. But the actor denied its truth.

"No, that's not the name. I don't want to get into that but I don't know where that came from," USA Today quoted Reynolds.

According to the Social Security Administration's website it has been found that the name James is among the Top 20 names for boys in the United States for the past 100 years from 1914 to 2013. The name Ryan has also become a popular name for girls.

Myra Max Ferree, an expert in comparative studies of gender, has concluded that if the girl James grows up to be a celebrity then pretty soon, James would become a popular name for girls.
