Fans are very excited to know the cast of the upcoming film "Shazam". One of the cast members have been revealed and spoke his thoughts on the movie.

"Shazam" is an upcoming American movie, which is based on the DC superhero of the same name. The film will center on the life of Billy Batson, a boy who was given the ability to transform into an adult superhero by saying the magic word "Shazam." "Shazam" stands for the six superhuman abilities of the superhero - the wisdom of Solomon, the strength of Hercules, the stamina of Atlas, the power of Zeus, the courage of Achilles, and the speed of Mercury. "Shazam" possesses these powers to combat the forces of evil.

Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson will play the role of the anti-hero Teth-Adam/ Black Adam as per Screen Rant. Johnson was recently speculated to play John Stewart, Lobo, or Billy Batson/ Captain Marvel, but such rumors have been negated.

Black Adam is the supervillain acting as the evil equivalent to supehero Shazam/Captain Marvel. He was a former Egyptian slave who managed to survive to the modern era. He will use his powers to take revenge on his persecutors.

Johnson also expressed his thoughts in his interview with IGN. He tackled the possibility of having Black Adam in the "Justice League" franchise. The actor said that fans have to honour the origin of the supervillain prior to becoming part of the heroes' side. He also believes that acknowledging Black Adam's starting point will establish a "stronger foundation" later on.

No actor has been officially confirmed to play the role of Billy Batson and the Wizard of Shazam.

There is no official information yet as to who will direct the film. The film is set to be produced by F.J. De Santo, Toby Emmerich, Michael Ewing, Christopher Godsick, and Michael Uslan. Bill Birch, Geoff Johns, and Darren Lemke are the film writers. The film is to be produced by Warner Bros and DC Entertainment.

"Shazam" is slated to premiere in theaters and cinemas on April 5, 2019.
