After Warner Bros' success with "American Sniper," which grossed an estimate of $518 million following its release on Dec. 25, 2014, fans and dog lovers will see another adventure film for the family titled "Max" and lead trainer Mark Forbes shared some revelations.

"Max" is an upcoming American film, which is about a military working dog named Max. Max comes back from his United States Marines service in Afghanistan. In shock of his master's death, he becomes unable to function well and is then adopted by his handler's family. Max's adoption leads the family to cope over time.

In an interview with Yahoo, Forbes said that the film will raise the bar when it comes to dog acting. He suggests Max's character to be multi-dimensional, creating a deeper substance.

Also, Forbes added that five dogs starred as Max, two of which were stunt dogs while the rest will be on-screen performers. The lead Max actor was revealed as a Belgian Shepherd named Carlos. Four months was the time frame for Forbes to get the canines ready for action.

The effects of war on animals serving in the military remained vague, as per Deadline. However, such concept may be seen deeper in the upcoming film. The film suggests that war can also be traumatic to animals like military dogs, rendering them unable to function optimally.

Some conflicts also arise between the former comrades of Max's handler and the family head, which led to Max's and the family's faster recovery.

The film's main cast members will include Josh Wiggins as Justin Wincott, Thomas Haden Church as Justin's father, and Lauren Graham as Justin's mother, Pamela.

Other members of the cast include Miles Mussenden, Mia Xitlali, Luke Kleintank, Jay Hernandez, Joseph Julian Soria, and Dejon LaQuake.

Robbie Amell will play the role of Max's handler.

The film is set to be piloted by Boaz Yakin, working along with Sheldon Lettich as co-writer. Ben Ormand and Karen Rosanfelt are the film co-producers. Filming started on May 12 last year in North Carolina, United States. The upcoming film will be produced by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and Sunswept Entertainment and will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

Man's hero "Max" is slated to premiere in theaters on June 26.
