MRI Scan

Researchers have found that magnets can control heat and sound, in yet another shocking discovery. This is the first study of its kind and never has anyone able to prove that magnets can do such a huge task.

In this study, the researchers have revealed that the acoustic phonons contain astounding magnetic properties and can have a high intensity magnetic field when exposed to the correct environment. Phonons are nothing but the particles of heat and sound. And after conducting a small experiment to prove this theory, they found out that during an MRI scan, these phonons were able to control and reduce the heat which was flowing through the semi conductor by no less than 12 percent.

Since heat and sound are the forms of the same energy, if something can control heat, it is bound to control sound as well.

The official reporting site for the Ohio University, OSU EDU has further reported that this discovery can lead the researchers to start trying to steer sound waves and control them with a full 100 percent power.

Joseph Heremans, a professor at the Ohio University also says that this might come as a shock to people who do not understand quantum mechanics well, but they will soon see the ultimate output of this major breakthrough development.

Another researcher at the University, Hyungyu Li states the fact that it was very difficult to carry out this experiment as the atoms were made to move really slowly so that the photons' movement can be monitored easily. Also, measuring the temperature at low points was extremely difficult

The next target on these scientists' list to see get to know for the possibility to deflect sound waves using a strong magnetic field.
