Wearing your Big Mac now has a whole new meaning! McDonald's, the worldwide fast food king, has launched a Big Mac Lifestyle Collection in Sweden. It includes a burger-inspired clothing line that includes thermal t-shirts and leggings, parkas; wallpaper; and even dog coats.
McDonald's launched the new clothing line on Tuesday at a fashion show held in Stockholm, Sweden, according to AdWeek. It is built on the success of the original Big Mac thermal underwear, which the restaurant chain sold as part of its sponsorship of the Swedish alpine/ski team.
Interestingly, McDonald's new clothing and decor line follows Moschino's replica McDonald's staff uniforms, and French fry box-inspired iPhone cases.
But McDonald's has launched products that feature the real deal: its famous Big Mac burger. The Lifestyle Collection is part of the restaurant chain's campaign "I'm Lovin' it 24," according to InStyle.
The campaign featured a 24-hour marathon of wacky McDonald's marketing in 24 cities worldwide. Other events included Madrid's gigantic Big Mac jigsaw puzzle, and Vienna's McOrchestra.
The unique clothing line includes pictures of McDonald's famous double-decker sandwich. Articles of clothing offered at the Big Mac Shop include long-sleeve thermal t-shirts, leggings, and parkas. There are also Big Mac boots.
If you want to encourage Big Mac dreams, you can also choose burger beddings and wallpaper. A McDonald's dog coat for your pet pooch will also be available "soon."
The Golden Arches served its first Big Mac on August 22, 1967. One of the chain's first franchises wanted to serve a unique, larger sandwich at its Uniontown, Pennsylvania store.
For now, the Big Mac Shop is only open in Sweden, and its items cost a little more than the restaurant's signature burger. The thermal underwear set costs about $60 USD.
