A teenager from North Carolina wrote a letter to Duke University to tell them that she is rejecting their letter telling her that she was not accepted this coming semester.

Siobhan O'Dell first posted this on her social networking page and it has since gone viral. The 17-year-old captioned the photo saying that she cannot believe she actually sent such.

O'Dell spent the whole week last week applying in different colleges in the country and has been getting rejection letters so she decided to write the reply. She mimicked the formal tone of the university starting off with thanking Duke University of their rejection letter on Mar. 26.

O'Dell followed it up with a statement that says after careful consideration, she regrets to inform the university that she is unable to accept their refusal to admit her for the Fall 2015 freshman class. She even mocked them saying that Duke University's outstanding success in rejecting previous applicants has not met her qualification. She closed her letter saying that she will be attending the freshmen class this Fall 2015.

According to Yahoo News, due to the letter written by O'Dell inspired people to call out on Duke University to let her join the class but much to her disappointment, their initial response was still followed. Duke University responded to the letter of O'Dell saying that in the last ten years, they received around 500 requests from students who wanted to get in the university but only reconsidered four out of the initial figure stated.

According to ABC News, when Duke University was contacted about the viral photo, they did not comment or respond about the said rejection letter. However, in another post by O'Dell, she noted that she will be attending the University of South Carolina and will major in biology.
